Thank you for your interest in the Antique and Classic Boat Society and the Blue Ridge Chapter. The mission of our organization is to bring together people with a common interest in historic, antique, and classic boats and to share fellowship, information, experience and ideas. The Blue Ridge Chapter of ACBS encompasses the States of Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. BRC is one of the larger and more active chapters with some 300 members and five chapter supported in-the-water events per year, plus an annual meeting of members. Typically, we will go to Lakes Hartwell and Lake Chatuge in North Georgia, Lake Sinclair and sometimes Lake Burton as well as Lake Norman, near Charlotte, NC and Lake Keowee in South Carolina. Our annual membership meeting is held at various locations in the three state area.

The boats of our interest are any boats built up through 1975, of any material, plus “contemporary” wooden boats built from 1976 to present. At our boating events, you’ll see lots of boats of different material, wood, fiberglass, and aluminum.

To get involved and take advantage of membership, you will join both the ACBS ($50) and the Blue Ridge Chapter ($20). You can do both with the on-line application at or follow the link below for a for hard copy application form. This qualifies you to participate in Blue Ridge Chapter events and the events of all other ACBS chapters throughout the United States and Canada. You will receive a directory from ACBS of about 700 pages full of information about members and the organization. ACBS will also send you the quarterly magazine called “The Rudder.” You will also be receiving our chapter newsletter, The Range Marker, with information about events, past and future, and other things happening in our world of old boats. We invite members to submit articles and pictures about anything pertaining to our hobby.

This is a great way to enjoy your boat and meet some wonderful people that share your interest in the old classics. If you have any questions or just want to talk about boats, feel free to contact me, or any of our officers or members. We look forward to seeing you at our Blue Ridge Chapter events and learning more about you and your interest in old boats.
