After joining the Blue Ridge Chapter in early 2019 and retiring later that fall, Sherry and I were looking forward to attending and participating in ACBS events. Having purchased our first wooden boat for restoration (1937 Hacker-Craft) and our second “Golden Gal” (1946 U-22) for participating in events. We were anxious to get started with our newfound hobby. Well, we all know what happened “COVID” shutting down event after event.
As things slowly starting returning back to some normality in 2021, we were able to attend the “St John River Run”, the “Lake Hartwell Rendevous” and finally our first boat show at “Lake Lure”. It certainly met our expectations meeting many new friends and being able to share what we all enjoy with the public.
Then the unexpected happened. Apparently, Craig and Theresa McMullin’s “Nauti Buoy” and our very own “Golden Gal” after spending the last night together on Lake Lure have hooked up! Craig Miller spotted them together early Sunday morning with this photo! They are now expecting and have named the new arrival “Little Bitty”. We are all so excited!
