2025 Lake Lure Trailer Classic Boat Show
Lake Lure Trailer Classic Boat Show
Our Lake Lure Trailer Show – Registration is Open! (link below)
Hello to all, and may I please update you on our upcoming Trailer Show at Lake Lure on Friday and Saturday June 20 -21. This is a special opportunity to continue our support for the Town and the Inn as their recovery continues.
The Inn has offered a great rate of only $119 per evening. We have a block of 20 rooms from Thursday through Saturday, departing Sunday morning. We can increase this if the block fills. To make your reservation based on your preference, please call the Inn directly at (828) 625-2525 and be sure to mention that you are coming for the BRC Trailer Show. John Heiderich will be the placement manager for our boats, and we will be available when you arrive. It would be ideal to show our boats on both Friday and Saturday.
Friday evening, we will share dinner together either at the Pavilion (on the beach) or at the Inn. We hope that the Pavilion may be accessible, but there is still a lot of work to be accomplished. Also on Friday evening, Mayor Pro Tem – Dave DiOrio will join us to give an update on the overall recovery process, and important planning for the future. We are sincerely grateful for his time.
(We are not sure yet if the Car Clubs may join us on Saturday, and the Inn is contacting them to determine the interest. The drive is longer from Hendersonville due to the closed roads and bridges).
On Saturday, we are working on activities for the Ladies to enjoy. We have a short walking tour of the main work area in progress now. You will go by van or trolly. We are then scheduling a lunch at the Lake House restaurant, and we are in the final stage of planning a session at a pottery shop where you can make mugs that will be fired and shipped to you back home. Cost will be $35 including shipping.
Saturday evening, we will dine informally at 6pm at the hotel restaurant as we did at Break on the Lake (seating can be inside or out). They will have entertainment beginning at 5:30pm.
The Bar at the Inn will be open from noon on Saturday.
Please join us!

Lastly, John and I visited Lake Lure recently to see how the recovery was progressing. I referenced in a previous message that I would share photos. Please see the photo gallery below. The amount of continuous work in remarkable in every way! They have progressed from debris removal to more silt work to restore the river channel and dredge the tremendous amount of soil runoff that poured down the river into the lake. This is a very large undertaking, and one can see the progress in channel restoration in the different photos. The re-opening of Morse Park is inspiring to see! My past photos showed the destruction and silt in this area.
The images of the bay where our boats are normally docked show how much will need to be removed from this location to open the channel to the main lake and improve the overall depth of the bay.
You will also see photos of a unique construction of stones and materials upriver from the main and Flower bridges that have been arranged in different configurations. Carving, stones and many other metal items found in the riverbed have been all arranged in this formation by one man who lives in the area……remarkable in many ways. We don’t know what the eventual outcome of this structure will be, but for now it is intriguing to see what a person can do as the recovery continues.
Chimney Rock is still restricted to only those who live there. Chimney Rock Park is targeting to reopen this Memorial Weekend using a back entry road that goes up near the Inn. One step at a time……progress moves forward!
Sincerely,
Steve and John
