The Hilton Head Island event is outstanding again!
What a spectacular weekend many Blue Ridge Chapter members spent at the Hilton Head Island Concours d’ Elegance! Picture perfect weather, stunning vehicles to view, and the best of times spent with our fellow chapter members! The laughter, the camaraderie, the admiration of the cars, boats, and all vehicles displayed made for a unique time to enjoy!
The display of boats was of interest to all…..fascinating to the many visitors to hear their stories and admire both the beauty and the history. The outreach to the community and visitors to the event was vast as so many visitors to our show area wanted to hear info on both the boats and the activity of our club today.
An activity that our chapter has looked forward to that was exciting for all was the recognition of the work of Charles and Diane Mistele in sharing the story of Miss America IX throughout the country for many years. Upon acquiring the boat, they took on the task of preserving not only the boat, but the history. Through the vision and efforts of Charles and Diane, tens of thousands of people have been able to view the boat, learn her history and some have even been able to take a ride in this amazing and remarkable boat. We are most grateful to them for their vision and commitment to this unique boat in history and were delighted to celebrate their vision at such a grand event as the Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance.
The Blue Ridge Chapter and ACBS International each donated $1000 to the Hilton Head Concours Motoring Festival that will go to the event charity. This event was a wonderful time for all and we look forward to Blue Ridge having another outstanding display and wonderful time there again next year!
