I know we have just started a new year and that only a couple of months ago you put your boat to bed for the winter, but Boat Shows stop for no one.
What in the heck am I talking about, well we just had our first planning meeting for the 2023 Lake Lure Spring Classic Boat and Auto Show. The show this year will take place on Friday May 19 and Saturday the 20th. The location is the same as in past years, The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa, in Lake Lure NC. This year we have space for 36 boats and well over 100 cars.
The weekend will start off Friday with a ride to lunch for those who arrive early. In the afternoon, cruise the lake to your heart’s content. At 6 PM we will have a low country boil dinner on the beach with a band playing in the background. So kick off your shoes, put your feet in the sand and have a good time.
Saturday the show runs from 9 AM to 4 PM. We are planning an evening get together with more information to follow.
We will be posting the registration form on our website Mid-February. Registrations open to the general public on April 20th so get yours in early. As in the past when you send in your registration you must include a copy of your boat insurance showing a minimum of $300,000 liability coverage. In addition, this year there is a ten question safe boating form that needs to be completed also.
We have blocked 25 rooms at the Inn for the chapter. These rooms will be released 30 days before the show so if you want to stay at the Inn please make your reservations and tell them you are with the boat show.
