BRC Friends,
I hope this note finds you well. The BRC chapter is a great group of friends sharing our interest in boating and passing that to the next generation. A great example of that is our friend Jerry W. Last fall I was looking for a small boat to make into a Christmas decoration. If you know Jerry… he has plenty of stock.
We loaded this boat in the back of my truck and after a quick clean up it was time to start the restoration. My wife reminded me we would like it done in time for Christmas, not in a year, meaning we had a month. So what do you do when you have little wood working skills? The first thing is to decide if you want it to float. Answer… Doesn’t matter. The second consideration is not ruining it in case someone really wants to do a proper job at a later date.
Based on the above I went to the local hardware store and purchased some wood for a basic frame, canvas, paint and stain. Two weeks later it was in the front yard and our Grandchildren love it.
